With electricity demand in Sub-Saharan Africa expected to more than triple by 2040, deforestation and pollution pose a great threat.
Distributing electricity to rural areas demands high investments in building energy grids and can cause environmental damage through deforestation and desertification.
In this film we explore an innovative Norwegian solution that makes it possible to distribute energy in an environmentally friendly way that prevents deforestation, and through a transfer of technology from Norway to Africa, creates local jobs and grows the local economy.
